Jordan Peele's Us Has a New Poster and Trailer on the Way

Oscar winner Jordan Peele, who was making Comedy Central viewers guffaw via his sketch-comedy series Key & Peele just three short years ago, has shared an exciting new update on Us, the mysterious and much-anticipated follow-up to his debut feature film Get Out, which was no less than Paste’s top film of 2017.

The first and most striking element of Peele’s Thursday update came in the form of the film’s new poster:

It’s a big, menacing step forward from the film’s first poster, which opted for a more muted, if artful approach:

You’ll notice that the scissor grips in today’s new poster echo the mirrored silhouettes of its predecessor. Hmmm …

We have yet to see any images or footage from the actual film, a problem Peele revealed will be corrected come Dec. 25:

From there, it won’t be much longer until Us itself debuts—as we’re reminded by a tweet from the film’s official account that Peele shared alongside today’s revelations, Us opens on March 15, 2019.

We imagine the first Us trailer will dispel a bit of the mystery surrounding this film—until the recent leak of the plot synopsis below, specific details were all but impossible to come by.

A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house, expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.

We at Paste can’t wait for Peele’s new nightmare. Stay tuned for that trailer come Christmas, and catch up on everything we’ve learned about Us so far right here.
