Rockstar Confirms Red Dead Online Beta Will Save Player Progress

Rockstar Games has quelled previous concerns that Red Dead Redemption 2’s multiplayer beta, Red Dead Online, wouldn’t preserve player progress once the full version came out.

Previously, the company had expressed its hopes that players would be able to keep their progress once the full version of the beta was released. On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the company announced via Twitter that the progress of players throughout the beta will not be reset.

“We appreciate all the continued feedback we are receiving on the Red Dead Online Beta,” reads Rockstar’s statement. “For players concerned about the potential for progress and stat resets, we currently do not have any plans to reset them as part of the Beta’s rollout. We are currently still working on game stability and economy balancing for an update that we hope to release later this week. Please stay tuned for more news to come.”

Rockstar has described Red Dead Online as “a new online connected experience set against the backdrop of Red Dead Redemption 2’s enormous open world,” as well as “an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption.” In Red Dead Online, you’re be able to customize your online characters and tailor abilities to fit your play style. You can have a team of up to eight players with whom you can hunt, fish, battle rival gangs and fight other players.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
