Curb Your Enthusiasm
actor Bob Einstein, also known for creating the character of wacky stuntman Super Dave Osborne, has died at age 76. Einstein passed away on Wednesday in Indian Wells, Calif., and was recently diagnosed with cancer, per Deadline.
Einstein is perhaps most well-known for his recurring role as Marty Funkhouser on Curb, and also made appearances as Super Dave Osborne on various shows, including the self-titled series Super Dave, which ran on Showtime from 1987 to 1991. Einstein is a two-time Emmy-winner; he won his first in the 1960s as part of the writing team for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and his second in 1977 as a producer on the series Van Dyke and Company, which won Outstanding Variety Program that year.
Einstein’s younger brother, actor and filmmaker Albert Brooks, has paid tribute to the late Einstein on Twitter, as have several cast and crew members who worked with him on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
