All Remaining Telltale Games Titles Being Removed from GOG

Disappointing news for Telltale Games fans: The developer’s full catalog will effectively vanish from the GOG storefront after this weekend (so if you were thinking of picking any of them up, you’d better hop on that quick).

This information follows close behind the recent news of Valve removing the option to purchase Telltale-developed Tales From The Borderlands from Steam. The most puzzling part? Nobody knows exactly why this is happening.

The California-based studio has had more than enough troubles as of late, with the majority of the company completely shutting down near the end of 2018. Though no reason for the removal of the Walking Dead developer’s catalog has been officially confirmed, many speculate that the studio’s closure reverted the games’ rights back to those who don’t have distribution agreements with GOG.

Luckily, this means that there could be a chance for certain titles to return to online stores. A representative for 2K Games told Eurogamer that they are “working to get Tales from the Borderlands back up on digital storefronts as soon as possible,” and it’s possible that the rights-holders of other Telltale series will end up trying to do the same.

Those who have already purchased a Telltale game on GOG prior to their delisting on May 27 at 6 a.m. ET will maintain access to play them as they please.
