Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo to Host Hidden-Camera Prank Show for Netflix

Stranger Things’ boy-wonder Gaten Matarazzo will find himself in another Netflix role as he joins the platform’s forthcoming hidden-camera prank show as host, per Deadline.

Titled Prank Encounters, each episode of the series will take two complete strangers who think they’re starting their first day at a new job. Per Netflix, “it’s business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares.”

Matarazzo, who is set to appear in the third season of Stranger Things on July 4 and will star in the Hollywood Bowl’s forthcoming summer production of Into the Woods, will executive produce with Ben Silverman, Howart T. Owens and Kevin Healey.

A release date has yet to be set for the show, but it is expected to debut later in the year. Stay tuned for further updates on the production.

Seeing that MTV recently ordered a reboot of Punk’d, we can only hope this show will fare well in the hypothetical hidden-camera prank show death-match.
