“Trump and His Supporters Are Getting Really Nervous”: Watch Elizabeth Warren Shrug off a Pro-Trump Heckler

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, gaining ground in the polls and leading the rhetorical charge in the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump, was utterly unfazed by a pro-Trump heckler who interrupted her Carson City, Nev., town hall on Wednesday, waving off a “Lock him up” chant and noting that MAGA folks have “good reason” to be agitated.

The lone heckler, a man in sunglasses holding a “Keep America Great!” sign, appeared on a catwalk above where Warren was speaking to supporters, shouting belligerently and brandishing his sign at the crowd, who booed him vociferously before chanting, “Lock him up,” as shown in footage shared by Mediaite. Warren opted for the high road, silencing her supporters and saying, “Look, there’s a lot we need to do, and I understand that Donald Trump and his supporters are getting really nervous, and they have a good reason to be.”

As the heckler was removed by security staff, Warren continued, “We’re not here just to worry about Donald Trump. We’re here to talk about a positive vision for how we build an America that works for everyone. And I’ll be clear: When I say ‘for everyone,’ I mean everyone, including Donald Trump supporters.” She was eventually met with a “Warren” chant, as well as continued heckling. C’est la vie!

Asked later whether she agreed with her supporters’ sentiment, Warren said that impeachment is “a serious Constitutional undertaking” that needs to be treated as such, per CBS News.
