Hear Lord Huron Play the Best of Lonesome Dreams in 2012

Lord Huron are modern indie-folk heroes. The L.A.-based group rode in on the same nu-folk wave that brought us acts like The Avett Brothers and even Mumford & Sons in the late 2010s, and they’ve remained an uber-popular live act and festival staple. Their most recent album, 2018’s Vide Noir, treks into sludgier, rockier territory than anything they’ve released prior. The combination of the charged new music and more peaceful old made for a delightful live show, one of our favorites at this year’s High Water Festival in Charleston, S.C.

In 2012, the band released their stunning debut album, Lonesome Dreams, on Oct. 9. About a month later, on this day (Nov. 12) that same year, the group fronted by Ben Schneider stopped by the Daytrotter studios to play a few songs from the record: the title track, “The Man Who Lives Forever,” “I Will Be Back One Day” and “Time To Run.”
