Celebrate Eddie Vedder’s Birthday With This 1992 Pearl Jam Performance

You know Eddie Vedder. The one with that gravelly grunge voice that captured the hearts of millions—even Parks and Recreation’s Andy Dwyer who cited Vedder as one of Mouse Rat’s biggest influences. It’s hard to imagine Pearl Jam without Vedder’s unmistakable lead vocals, and his pipes have inspired countless tribute bands and parodies—like this Family Guy bit called “Vedder Call Saul.” Vedder celebrates his 55th birthday today, so Paste is sharing some vintage concert footage of Pearl Jam back in 1992.

After the success of their 1991 debut album Ten, Pearl Jam embarked on their first extensive world tour. During the second leg of their North American run, they played a show at Philadelphia’s Trocadero Theatre, which shuttered earlier this year. The show’s setlist featured Ten classics like “Alive,” “Jeremy,” “Even Flow” and “Black,” and you can watch highlights below.
