Trump Happily Compares Himself to Thanos in a New Campaign Ad

As Trump faces the Endgame of impeachment proceedings through the House, he and his campaign team launched a new, highly questionable, and more than slightly disturbing new ad. The clip transforms Trump’s orange fake-tan into a queasy purple hue to match that of Thanos, the ultimate enemy of the Avengers heroes. Jim Starlin, creator of Thanos, was not happy, Deadline reports.

Beware, watch this monstrosity at your own risk:

We’re highly unsure if the team running the “Trump War Room” account has actually watched Infinity War or Endgame. If you’re unfamiliar with the plot, Thanos (portrayed by Josh Brolin) is a Titan bent on eliminating half of the entire universe’s population, and would have succeeded if it weren’t for some timeline reversing. Considering the way Trumps’ opposition in Congress, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, fades to dust at the end of the video, the power of universal destruction seems to be a positive for the president.

Creator of Thanos, Jim Starlin, was highly unhappy with the rendition, as he expressed on his Instagram:

After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous dang fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer. How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.

Starlin was thoroughly disgusted that the president of his “country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer. How sick is that?” Quite sick, we believe, but unfortunately not far off from the barbaric family separation, siphoning of funds from cancer research, and the many other indefensible actions Trump has continued while in office. “Fortunately” Starlin notes, “all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.” That’s inevitability true for Trump, and true for Endgame, which ended with a finale that Trump and his team should be aware of: Thanos loses. Who knew, right?
