Coldplay Surprise-Release New Acoustic EP and Short Film

The creative juices of Coldplay are still flowing decades later, as the band shared a surprise release on Friday, a new acoustic EP accompanied by a short film, both exclusive to Apple Music.

The new EP, Coldplay: Reimagined, is a stripped-down acoustic version of three songs from their latest album, Everyday Life. Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland worked with long-term collaborators Rik Simpson, Dan Green, and Bill Rahko (The Dream Team) to produce the EP. And the short film of the same name is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the EP itself.

“Today we tried to strip back some of these songs which were already quite stripped-back,” Chris Martin says with a smile in the opening moments of the Apple Music film. “We did that by removing two band members.”
