We caught up with Los Angeles quintet Local Natives during Bonnaroo before their Friday performance.
During the band’s packed day, they soundchecked on the What Stage (the very stage Paul McCartney later played on that night), headed back to the Hay Bale Studios for an intimate live recording and then grabbed some grub where they would hang out with friends and fellow musicians from Passion Pit.
The group then made way to their trailer, prepared with vocal warm ups and headed to a sea of 20,000 adoring fans. Local Natives delivered an unstoppable show, one with vigor, energy and precision – it was so poignant in fact that Christopher Mintz-Plasse (you know, Superbad’s McLovin) had to come backstage just to tell the band so.
