There used to be a time where music was made around one microphone, where all the musicians would get too close for comfort and get it right the first time. Often that’s because it was the only chance they would get. Pokey LaFarge lives in this time, where life doesn’t move as fast and people take the time to say hello when they pass by on the street. Jack White, connoisseur of all things vintage, caught LaFarge and his South City Three when they passed through Nashville to cut a few tracks for Third Man Record’s Blue Series. Since then, LaFarge recorded a new album, Middle of Everywhere, set for release on July 19th. Check out a song from that record, “So Long Honeybee, Goodbye” here.
