After a run of critical praise for their 2011 debut, Get Out The Lotion, including a plug from pal Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs as her “favorite artist of the year,” Adam Weiner and Dan Finnemore have reunited as Low Cut Connie for a follow up, titled Call Me Sylvia.
While Weiner hails from New Jersey and Finnemore from the United Kingdom, their infectious brand of rock ‘n’ roll feels like a more than welcome throwback to the swampy sounds of early ‘70s Muscle Shoals. The aptly-titled new track “Boozophilia,” with rollicking piano lines, warm guitar shuffles, and shout-along vocals, rides a (surely) whisky-fueled groove determined to settle in and have a good time.
Call Me Sylvia will be self-released on Sept. 25. Listen to “Boozophilia” below and grab a free download through the band’s website.
