Energetic U.K. rock ‘n’ rollers The Heavy are back with a new full-length album to follow up 2009’s The House That Dirt Built, which featured the hit single “How You Like Me Now?”

The new album, titled The Glorious Dead, will be released on Aug. 21 via Coutner Records, the same label that released The House That Dirt Built as well as the group’s 2007 debut, Great Vengeance and Furious Fire.

If The Glorious Dead’s already-released lead single, “What Makes A Good Man?” is any indication, the album will feature just as much gusto, enthusiasm and, of course, heaviness as the band’s previous releases.

’“It’s our third record, which is when you’re judged if you’re here to stay or sliding off the face of the Earth,” frontman Kelvin Swaby adds. “We want to stick around so we took our balls out and went for it. I love what we’ve done. We got our deadpan heartbreak down. This record suggests how we continue to walk among the dead—now just in a few more places, and with more of a swagger.”

Below, you can check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at The Heavy as they ready for the release of their third LP, which guitarist Daniel Taylor calls “the most important record [they’ve] made.”

The Heavy are also currently touring North America in support of The Glorious Dead. Check out their upcoming schedule below.
