Black Prairie has announced the arrival of their second album, “A Tear in the Eye is a Wound in the Heart…” which is due out Sept. 18. Black Prairie—the exploratory, back-porch ensemble founded by The Decemberists’ Chris Funk, Nate Query and Jenny Conlee—will also be hitting the road this fall in support of their new record.
The band was formed in 2008 after members of The Decemberists had some downtime from the road. Black Prairie also features vocalist Annalisa Tornfelt and guitarist Jon Neufeld. After gaining a reputation as Portland’s “house band,” Black Prairie is also in the process of recording a series of collaborations with singers in their hometown.
“A Tear in the Eye is a Wound in the Heart…” is the first album to primarily feature vocalist Tornfelt. Check out our exclusive stream of the album below.
