With a solo career spanning 20 years, Tori Amos is one of the strongest female voices in music today. Her diverse discography shows her range as an artist and proves that she isn’t afraid to take risks.
Amos’s latest album Gold Dust, which will be released Oct. 2, re-imagines some of her greatest hits and sets them to the sound of the Metropole Orchestra. Amos was invited to perform with the Metropole and liked the sound of her music in a live, orchestral setting. This is how Gold Dust came to be.
Amos hand-picked each song for the album, many of which were extensively reworked for the orchestra.
“The 20 years is about celebrating different times that have happened – all the blessings, all the conversations which have taken place and inspired these songs,” Amos said in a recent press release. “This is a collection of new studio recordings of where they are now and who they have become.”
