Earlier this summer we premiered the song “Naked” from Sera Cahoone’s upcoming album Deer Creek Canyon. Now we can acquaint the song with a different sense: sight.

The video for lead single “Naked” shows Cahoone hiding different parts of herself until – as the song goes – it’s right.

The album, her third solo release, was titled for the Colorado canyon where she grew up and her mother still resides. It was recorded in 2012 at Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, Wash. and co-produced with Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Vetiver) in L.A.

It’s been four years since her last album, but Cahoone didn’t want to rush this effort. “I took a very long break to write this record,” she says of her latest work. “I didn’t care how long it took. Once these songs started coming together, I knew I wanted to take my time with this one. I wanted to get it right, focus more on production, and make sure all the sounds and vocals were pushed even higher.”

Deer Creek Canyon is out today on SubPop. The video for “Naked” and upcoming tour dates can be found below.
