The inaugural Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, Ga. had a lineup that drew us in top to bottom, boasting headliners like Band of Horses and The Lumineers and hosting memorable performances from old favorites like Jim James as well as newcomers to the festival circuit like von Grey.
We at Paste spent much of the weekend in the VIP lounge with our friends at Midnight Moon, capturing intimate performances from festival artists. The stone walls of Atlanta’s Masquerade made an ideal backdrop for our moonshine-saturated escape from the rainy weather outside.
Tennessee band Lucero packed out the room for their acoustic session, which consisted of a simple two-person setup. Lead singer Ben Nichols’ raspy voice was the perfect antidote for the dreary weather, and fans in attendance hooted and hollered for their favorite tunes. Watch Lucero perform “Other Side of Lonesome” live in the Midnight Moon VIP lounge at Shaky Knees.
