Singer-songwriter Laura Veirs has long garnered critical acclaim for her captivating sound, having released eight albums and even recorded a children’s record, Tumble Bee: Laura Veirs Sings Folk Songs for Children.
Now, Veirs is set to release her ninth full-length album, Warp & Weft. Warp & Weft was produced by Veirs’ husband and long-time musical collaborator Tucker Martine, and fans will be delighted to know that it features appearances from the likes of Jim James, Neko Case and more.
Recorded while Veirs was pregnant, this forthcoming album was definitely influenced by motherhood, even on the more painful songs.
“I’m haunted by the idea that something terrible could happen to my kids, but that fear pushes me to embrace the moment,” said Veirs in a recent press release. “This record is an exploration of extremes – deep, dark suffering and intense, compassionate love.”
