The Delta Mirror’s frontman Chris Acosta spent years performing under the moniker Craig Gordon, but the band’s latest release Better Unsung is a more personal look into Gordon’s life and features an impressive array of collaborations, including Anticon Records co-founder Alias and Blue Sky Black Death.
“In high school I was a backpack-toting, tape-trading underground hip-hop goofball, and the holy grail of that movement was Anticon Records,” said Acosta. “So working on this record with Alias was a dream come true for me. His drums aren’t always what I had in mind, but they lend a completely new identity to every song that I have fallen in love with.”
”’A Song About the End’ is my favorite track from Machines that Listen, so it was amazing to rework it with Blue Sky Black Death,” said Acosta. “The collaborations are my favorite part of this record.”
