We first stumbled upon NYC band Misterwives at CMJ last year, a happy accident that resulted in a full set of dance-able, poppy tunes and a memorable Drake cover. Fast forward a few months, and the band has finally released their debut EP Reflections, a six-song collection that captures the whirlwind year the band has weathered.
“It’s a cool reflection of Misterwives in the beginning,” said Mandy Lee, the band’s lead vocalist and songwriter. “I think it speaks volumes as to what sound we’re about, and what kind of music we were into from the beginning. We play real instruments and it’s a real band, and that definitely is showcased through the music.”
We caught up with the band in their hometown of New York City, where they stopped by the loft and performed fan-favorite “Coffins” for our video crew. Our friends at Warby Parker braved the polar vortex to provide some new shades for the band, too: check out photos in the gallery below.
