Since his first self-recorded efforts, New York singer-songwriter Anthony D’Amato has continued to accrue accolades, ranging from praise for the singles rolling out off of his forthcoming New West debut, The Shipwreck From The Shore, and a slot at September’s Americana Fest in Nashville. It’s a catchy, fresh sound that takes cues from tradition, right down to where the songs were recorded: an 18th century farmhouse in Maine. With the help of producer and keyboardist Sam Kassirer (Josh Ritter, Lake Street Dive), drummer Matt McCaughan (Bon Iver) and bassist Brad Cook (Megafaun), D’Amato has achieved a rich sound that has as much depth as it does popular appeal.
In anticipation of his forthcoming release, D’Amato has shared the newest track from his album, a break-up song entitled “If It Don’t Work Out.” Listen to the song in the player above. The Shipwreck From The Shore is set for release on Sept. 2 via New West.
