Nashville band The Lonely Biscuits have long been honing their craft on stages in college towns and clubs across the nation, but with their debut album on the way later this year, it seems that big things are still ahead. With their new song “Ma’am,” the band reveals a more developed sound.
“This song is the product of both new and old inspirations,” said Grady Wenrich. “Living in Nashville and hearing all of the music being made here has influenced us a lot recently. Our sound has evolved over the last few years and this is the most cohesive we have felt.”
The Lonely Biscuits have every reason to feel more put together: since their 2013 single “Chasin’ Echoes” caught attention from critics and peers, they’ve been busy balancing a burgeoning music career with the real-life demands of chasing a degree.
“I got the idea for this song while sitting in class on the first day of school,” said Wenrich. “When I got home we all started jamming in our house and the song was finished within thirty minutes. Those types of songs usually end up feeling the best. We didn’t take the time to polish and produce it, we just left it in its raw form and now it is probably our favorite song to play live because of that.”
