Most of us generally associate South by Southwest with Texas sunshine (and sunburns), but every once in a while the weather throws you a curveball. We’d been spending our days with folks like Shakey Graves, Tom Brosseau and Jess Williamson, shooting low-key sessions in between heading out to the venues to find our new favorite bands. Halfway through the marathon music conference our sunny backyard oasis was hit with a series of torrential downpours, but that didn’t stop a series of up-for-anything bands from performing for the Paste cameras.
New York’s Parlour Tricks were the first band to brave the rain, and as the drizzle turned into something worse they were just getting into the chorus of standout track, “The Storm.” It was kind of perfect—Check out the video in the player above. For more from Parlour Tricks, check out their performance of “Love Song” live from the Paste Parlour at CMJ 2014.
