Music has always been an integral part of Bob’s Burgers humor, whether it be an original song, Bob’s wife Linda belting out tunes about Thanksgiving while high on acid or his son Gene’s incessant keyboard noodling.
In an incredible twist, however, the show is prepping to get some serious indie music cred. As part of a segment called “Bob’s Buskers,” various prominent artists will be covering some of the series’ memorable tunes, according to a Vulture article. The animators will then incorporate an animated version of the artists “busking” in front of the titular store.
First up is St. Vincent with her cover of “Bad Girl” from a season two episode “Bad Tina,” in which Bob’s daughter Tina starts falling under bad influences.
Other expected contributing artists include Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields and The National.
