The Brewers Association recently released data from a comprehensive 2012 study that examined the state of brewing in the United States. Some fascinating info and statistics came out of the study if you’re a beer geek. Craft brewing has a $33.9 billion impact on the U.S. Sam Adams is still the largest craft brewery in the country, brewing 2,125,000 barrels in 2012. But the fastest growing brewery in the country in 2012 was Blackstone Brewery in Nashville, growing over 1,000% in a single year.
We like the interactive map that the New Yorker put together, which breaks the info down by category and state. California has the most craft breweries of any state, with 316, and Vermont has the most breweries per capita, with 20 breweries for every 500,000 Vermonters.
