Unless you’ve been out digging a hole in the woods for the past 24 hours, you are probably aware that the Golden Globes took place last night. If you have a working Internet connection, you are probably really aware that the Golden Globes took place last night. It was a busy evening and there was plenty to talk about. Julia Louis-Dreyfus smoked an e-cig; Diane Keaton gave a long speech about how she and Woody Allen are totally BFFs and even sang a song about it; Leo won; American Hustle and 12 Years A Slave won; Matthew McConaughey kept his shirt on for three consecutive hours…Like I said, it was a magical evening.
But the straws that stir the drink, both this year and last, are Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who killed once again. In addition to Poehler making out with Bono, the tandem of SNL alums gave a riotous monologue that poked fun at pretty much everyone in the room, even Matt Damon, who was there only for his supporting role in the TV movie Behind the Candelabra, making him the equivalent of a “garbage man” in a room full of A-listers with bigger roles.
