A number of artists have put items up for auction to help Japan.

The label EMI is holding an online auction, with money raised going to the Red Cross. Included items: Daft Punk’s Ferarri from Electroma, hand-written lyrics from Brian Wilson’s “God Only Knows” off Pet Sounds, a signed Bat For Lashes tour costume, a Beastie Boys’ signed Japanese VMA award, a Lykke Li vest, Billy Corgan’s Zero T-shirt, plus more items from “Radiohead, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz, Coldplay, David Bowie, The Beatles, Depeche Mode, and more,” writes Pitchfork.

Sonic Youth  are auctioning a guitar to benefit Shelterbox USA.

Various Scottish musicians will release a compilation titled Love Letter to Japan for the Red Cross. Featured artists include Belle and Sebastian’s Stevie Jackson, BMX Bandits, The Pastels and more.

German label Kompakt have released a compilation, also benefiting the Red Cross, featuring Michael Mayer, Lawrence, Jahcoozi, et al. It’s available at Bandcamp or Other Music.

The Rentals and Ernest Jenning will release Resilience, a collection of instrumentals with The Strokes’ Nikolai Fraiture appearing, for the Red Cross. Currently available digitally and in stores May 3.

Music-download site OTOTOY released Resume, a three-volume compilation featuring Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Isobel Campbell, Versus, Modest Mouse members and more.

The Beastie Boys will release a 7” single on Record Store Day with a Passion Pit remix; proceeds go to the Red Cross. A number of singles will be purchasable online for U.S. buyers.
