Today Lucasfilm announced that they are teaming up with eBay, Major League Baseball and a host of celebrities to spearhead a donation drive, with all parties involved asking fans to “Use the Force for good” and support Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C), a charitable program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that raises funds for cancer research. The announcement was made in celebration of the September launch of Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-Ray.

eBay will be hosting a special online destination where folks can bid in a charity auction on exclusive items such as a Star Wars edition 2012 Volkswagen Passat and a dinner with George Lucas, Chris Columbus, Francis Ford Coppola, Philip Kaufman and John Lasseter. The MLB will be featuring Star Wars-themed nights at a number of games throughout the month of September, with special SU2C ticket packages that include VIP fan photo ops, giveaways, and the official Star Wars SU2C T-shirt. The shirts are also available through the SU2C website

The celebrities involved include Aziz Ansari, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Jaime King, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg and Emma Stone and Samuel L. Jackson, who all appear in a tribute video reenacting their favorite scenes from the classic trilogy. Check it out below and view the full press release here.
