Frank Herbert’s Dune has enthralled readers since its release in 1965. A sci-fi epic that kicks off an iconic series, Dune follows young Paul Atreides to a desert planet coveted for one natural resource: a “spice” called melange. The spice has the ability to extend life and to enhance a person’s consciousness, making it valuable enough to brave treachery from rival families (and sandworms) to control it.
More than 50 years after its release, Herbert’s Nebula and Hugo Award-winning novel is now available in a deluxe edition with illustrations by Matt Griffin. Ace published the new edition this week, and it boasts stunning features:
An new cover with a beautifully designed poster on the interior of the jacket (see photo above).
Stained edges and “Fear Is the Mind Killer” imprinted on the front cover:
Fully illustrated endpapers:
A redesigned world map and an updated introduction by Brian Herbert.
