Books News Jk Rowling

We already know that Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is taking J.K. Rowling’s world of wizardry to the United States, where muggles are called “no-maj” and the New Salem Philanthropic Society is conducting literal witch hunts in the 1920s. Starting tomorrow, we’ll get some extended background to prepare us for the film, as Rowling publishes the first of a series of four pieces collectively called Magic in North America.

The first piece, “History of Magic in North America,” will be up on Pottermore at 9:00 a.m. EST tomorrow. According to a video premiered on Entertainment Weekly, we’ll learn about the American magic school Ilvermorney, the Native American skinwalker myth, the real story of the Salem Witch Trials, and the Magical Congress of the United States. Check it out below.

No word yet on whether Abraham Lincoln was actually a vampire hunter.
