Ann M. Martin’s The Baby-Sitters Club series is finally getting the audiobook treatment.
Over three decades after the Middle Grade series first became a phenomenon, the novels about a group of friends who run a baby-sitting business will be released in audio thanks to Audible. The wildest part is that Audible is dropping all 131 BSC titles on August 13th, meaning fans will be able to immediately binge the series.
“I’m thrilled to see that the readership for The Baby-Sitters Club continues to grow after all these years,” Martin says in Audible’s press release. “And I’m grateful and honored to hear from fans—young and old—who have supported the series with such affection, love and nostalgia for all things BSC.”
The first five titles feature Elle Fanning (Teen Spirit, Super 8, Maleficent) as the narrator, while the remaining 126 include Brittany Pressley, Ali Ahn, Emily Bauer, Lauren Fortgang, Bahni Turpin, Erin Moon, Stephanie Einstein and Vanessa Johansson as performers.
“The fierce friendships and babysitting adventures of The Baby-Sitters Club have been so much fun to perform!” Elle Fanning says. “People can now relive these coming of age stories in a whole new way or enjoy them for the very first time!”
All 131 audiobooks are available to pre-order here. Fans can also look forward to Netflix’s 10-episode adaptation of the series, which was announced in February. If our re-read of the books as adults is any indication, the TV show will require some changes to remain relevant in the 21st century.
