Adult Swim Announces Its Crazy New Series Ballmastrz: 9009

Adult Swim’s newest and possibly most outrageous comedy animated show yet, Ballmastrz: 9009, has scored a premiere date for this spring. The Adult Swim original series, set in the year 9009, “follows washed up superstar and notorious party gal Gaz Digzy, who after a spiral of destructive antics is demoted to the worst team in The Game: The Leptons. Her only way back to the top is to somehow lead these pathetic misfits to victory,” per a press release.
The series comes from Christy Karacas, previously known for the show Superjail!, which ran from 2007 to 2014. The show’s animation is described as a hybrid of Karacas’ personal style that also incorporates several anime elements.
Natasha Lyonne leads the cast of voice actors in Ballmastrz: 9009, along with Dana Snyder, Dave Willis, Jessica DiCicco, Eric Bauza, Christopher McCulloch and Karacas. Special guests include Norman Reedus, Stephanie Sheh and Mike O’Gorman.
The quarter-hour series premieres Sunday, April 8 at midnight EST with back-to-back episodes weekly. See the show’s trailer and key art below.
