Watch Broad City‘s Abbi and Ilana Read from Phoebe Robinson’s New Book You Can’t Touch My Hair

Phoebe Robinson, stand-up comic, host of the podcasts 2 Dope Queens and Sooo Many White Guys, and consultant on Broad City, has written a book of essays examining, among other things, what it’s like to be “the minority friend,” white guilt, and why you can’t touch her hair, so stop asking.

To help promote You Can’t Touch My Hair: And Other Things I Still Have to Explain, Robinson’s Broad City cohorts Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer decided to read some passages from the essay, “How to Avoid Being the Black Friend.” Like you may expect, it gets uncomfortable.

You can watch the whole video above.

You Can’t Touch My Hair is out on Oct. 4. You can pre-order it here.
