Casey James Salengo isn't actually known far and wide as the Wild Country Phoenix of comedy, but he probably should be. It's a good nickname. We officially endorse it here at Paste. It's also a good name for a comedy album, so it's good that that's what Salengo named his Comedy Central debut, which is out next week through all the streaming and download sites. Wild Country Phoenix will be up exclusively on the Laughly app next Thursday, Sept. 28, and then hitting Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and more the next day. Recorded live at The Creek and the Cave in New York, it's a solid 64 minutes of Salengo magic straight from the barren backwoods of Vermont, which his affable patter unspooling out effortlessly all over the damn place. Don't take our word for it, though: listen yourself, right now, through this preview track that we're sharing here exclusively at Paste. On "Where Daddy Gon' Sit" Salengo waxes poetic on the confidence you gain when you replace your natural teeth with big ol' fake chompers. Check it out above and listen to the full album next week.
