HBO Announces Fall Comedy Lineup: Four Stand-Up Specials, Tracey Ullman Sketch Series

Comedy News HBO

HBO’s about to get a big influx of laughter. The cable network has just announced its forthcoming comedy lineup, and it includes some heavyweight talents. For starters, the network will tape specials with Jerrod Carmichael and T.J. Miller for premieres in early 2017.

Carmichael’s solo special, his second for HBO, will be produced by A24, and Miller’s will be titled T.J. Miller: Meticulously Ridiculous. A third special starring Pete Holmes, titled Pete Holmes: Faces and Sounds, will air later this year. In addition to these specials, the network has also begun preparations on All Def Comedy, a special hosted by Tony Rock that will feature rising All Def performers.

HBO will also air the first episode of Tracey Ullman’s Show on Friday, Oct. 28 at 11 p.m. EST. The show will be six episodes long and will star HBO favorite Ullman, who will offer a scintillating take on “modern life on the British side of the pond,” impersonating everyone from Judi Dench to Angela Merkel. Ullman’s show first aired on the BBC earlier this year.

HBO is bringing on the comfort this winter, gently reminding all of us that all we need to get through the harsh, cold months is a little laughter; although a coat probably wouldn’t hurt either.
