Watch John Oliver Rip Trump Apart for Leaving Paris Agreement

America’s adoptive father John Oliver is just about as fed up as you are about the United States leaving the Paris Agreement. On his latest episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the comedian spent a solid 20 minutes thoroughly discussing how pulling out of the agreement is, on all levels, fucking stupid.

A good chunk of the time was spent degrading Donald Trump for thinking that other countries are as obsessed with the U.S. as he is with himself. “The rest of the world applauded when we signed the Paris Agreement. They went wild,” said Trump, “They were so happy for the simple reason that it put our country, the United States of America, which we all love, in a very very big economic disadvantage.” A fun thing to do while watching Trump speak—besides dissociate to your happy place—is to drink every time he either uses nationalism as a crutch, veers off course or says two “very’s” in a row. Something that is not fun is realizing this man could single-handedly ruin the world with his environmental policies.

Oliver shares your sentiments, exclaiming, “What are you talking about? They were happy because they secured a landmark victory for the future of the planet, you fucking egomaniac. The whole world is not secretly conspiring against the United States.” Somehow, yelling similar insults at your TV when Trump is talking is not nearly as satisfying as watching Oliver do it concisely and furiously on national television. Oliver also isn’t the only trusty public figure struggling to hold it together. Bill Nye almost lost it on MSNBC last week, responding to a question about the legitimacy of worrying about climate change with, “Are you kidding?” It’s official: Everyone is tired of pretending that people who ignore facts have respectable opinions on world issues.
