Just For Laughs has unveiled the next era of comedians with the release of their highly coveted New Faces list.
Just For Laughs is a world-renowned discovery showcase that serves to elevate up-and-coming performers into the comedy stratosphere. In the past, Just For Laughs helped launch the careers of Jimmy Fallon, Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia, Ali Wong and Michelle Wolf, among others.
Just For Laughs’ annual New Faces showcase will see their list of newcomers picking up the mic to display their chops and change the face of today’s comedy scene. And even more will have the chance to show the comedy world what they’ve got with the addition of New Faces: Canada, joining the lineup of showcases—also including New Faces: Faces of Comedy, New Faces: Characters, New Faces: Unrepped, and New Faces: Creators. It’ll be nice to see even more people have their shot to break through the comedy industry’s glass ceiling this time around.
Here’s the when, where and who for New Faces 2019.
The New Faces of Comedy showcases will take place at Salle Ludger-Duvernay at the Monument National on July 24.
Lineup: Anna Drezen, Brad Silnutzer, Brendan Scannell, Chanel Ali, Dan Licata, Dewayne Perkins, Hannah Einbinder, Jay Jurden, Joe Praino, Kevin Iso, Logan Guntzelman, Matty Ryan, Opey Olagbaju, Punkie Johnson, Reggie Conquest, Shane Gillis, Shapel Lacey, Tacarra Williams, Tien Tran, Tyree Elaine.
New Faces: Characters will take place at Salle Ludger-Duvernay at the Monument National on July 25.
Lineup: Allison Dunbar, George Aivaliotis, Haley Hepworth, Michael Churven, Michael Van Schoick, Rachel Pegram, Shukri R. Abdi, Taylor Ortega, Thomas Whittington, Tristan Griffin.
New Faces: Unrepped will take place at Salle Ludger-Duvernay at the Monument National on July 25.
Lineup: Andrew Murphy, Andrew Stanley, Craig Conant, Drew Dunn, Janae Burris, Jordan Jensen, Lael O’Shaughnessy, Napoleon Emill, Sean Grant, Sam Tallent, Tina Friml.
New Faces: Creators will take place in the Grand Salon Opera at the DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal on July 25.
Lineup: Benito Skinner, Brad Gage, Carmen Angelica, Felipe Di Poi, Jennah Brittany, Tiny Chef (Rachel Larsen, Adam Reid and Ozlem Akturk), Tutweezy aka Darius Tutwiler.
New Faces: Canada presented by Netflix will take place in the Salle Ludger-Duvernay at the Monument National on July 26.
