Watch Trump’s “Puppets” Audition to Voice Kermit the Frog on Late Show

With the departure of Steve Whitman, the voice of beloved Muppet Kermit the Frog is up for grabs. The folks at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert saw this as an opportunity to poke fun at Trump’s “puppets,” holding a mock audition for the role in which infamous lines from the president’s pals were dubbed over Kermit’s mouth movements.

Sean Spicer was the first up with his Hitler quote, which is still just as cringe-worthy coming out of a nonthreatening green puppet. Donald Trump Jr. was next, saying he “can’t help what someone sends me” in regards to the emails he received about Russian knowledge of Hillary Clinton. The third audition featured Ben Carson talking about stabbing someone when he was 14, and the segment was rounded out by a quote from Trump himself. Kermit is such a good sport.

Watch the Late Show clip above and try not to dwell on the fact that these people run the country.
