Childrens Hospital‘s Netflix Spinoff, Medical Police, Gets First Look and Premiere Date

From the inimitable team behind the Adult Swim series Childrens Hospital comes Medical Police, a Netflix original premiering globally on Jan. 10, 2020.

According to Netflix, Medical Police “follows two American physicians (Erinn Hayes and Rob Huebel) stationed at a pediatric hospital in São Paulo, Brazil who unwittingly discover a civilization-threatening virus. They’re soon recruited as secret government agents and find themselves in a race against time to find a cure, all the while uncovering a dark conspiracy at the center of the outbreak.” The show’s tagline is short and sweet: They’re Cops. And Doctors. At the Same Time.

The thriller/romance/comedy builds off the legacy of its predecessor, Childrens Hospital, a live-action show that was initially a five-minute, web-only series back in 2008 before later expanding to 11 minutes (to fit in a 15-minute slot) when it was picked up by Adult Swim.

Medical Police stars Hayes and Huebel, who are joined by Sarayu Blue, Childrens Hospital creator Rob Corddry, Malin Akerman, Ken Marino and Lake Bell. Jason Schwartzman, Fred Melamed and others are slated to make appearances, as well. Co-creators Corddry, Krister Johnson, Jonathan Stern and David Wain serve as executive producers and writers, as well.
