Netflix Orders Nick Kroll Animated Series Big Mouth

Comedy News Netflix

Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of Big Mouth, a half-hour animated comedy, from real-life friends Nick Kroll (Kroll Show, The League) and Andrew Goldberg (Family Guy). The show is described as “surreal” and “edgy” in a press release and will center around “teenaged adventures in puberty.”

“Andrew and I have been best friends since 1st grade, so this show is over 30 years in the making,” said Kroll. “I can’t wait to tell all the stories that make up the glorious nightmare of puberty.”

Kroll and John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live) will voice the main characters, Nick and Andrew, respectively. Others set to lend their voices to the show include Maya Rudolph (Maya & Marty, Bridesmaids), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Lady Dynamite), Jordan Peele (Keanu, Key and Peele), Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Documentary Now!), Jenny Slate (Girls, Lady Dynamite) and Jessi Klein (Inside Amy Schumer).

Jennifer Flacket and Mark Levin, the writing duo responsible for films like Madeline, Little Manhattan and Nim’s Island, are also credited as Big Mouth’s creators and will serve as executive producers with Goldberg and Kroll. Big Mouth will appear on Netflix sometime in 2017.
