Watch a Giddy Stephen Colbert Welcome Sarah Palin Back to the Campaign Trail

This might be the highlight of Stephen Colbert’s short reign at The Late Show—a reunion with his old pal from Comedy Central days, Sarah Palin. He’s positively dizzy with excitement at the prospect of her return to the political scene, and in the course of the video above, he sways with his lighter, plays a tambourine, and screams “Hallelujah” as he watches clips of her Donald Trump endorsement speech. “It’s like a magical eagle made a wish on a flag pin and it came to life,” he says, just before praising her total incoherence (“it’s like she’s speaking in tongues!”). Watch the clip, and hope for Colbert’s sake that Trump drags Palin around for the next 10 months.
