NBC’s Powerless Pilot Casts Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk as Series Regulars

Comics News Danny Pudi

On the heels of NBC’s announcement that Vanessa Hudgens would be starring in its DC Comics pilot about people without powers, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed three other actors who will serve as series regulars.

Fandom favorites Danny Pudi (Community) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Con Man) will both star alongside A to Z’s Christina Kirk in this The Office style show about the relationship between a city, its citizens, and the incredibly destructive superheroes who protect them.

Pudi will star as Teddy, a man who spends his days at their insurance office “creating time-wasting pranks as a way to make their office, the ‘least super place on earth,’ just a little less ‘unsuper.’” Teddy is the best (at-work) friend to Hudgens’ Emily Locke. Tudyk, a fandom superstar, has been cast as Hudgens’ boss, Del. Coming off a recent promotion simply because he’s “the boss’ son,” Del is a “power-mad disastrous dictator of a boss” and a “rich, over-educated globetrotting wastrel.”

Meanwhile, Kirk will play Del’s personal assistant Jackie, a fan of the beefcake superheroes who will begin “buckling under [Del’s] unreasonable and impossible demands.”
