L.A. Gallery Features Enormous, Too Good To Be True Cake Maze

Los Angeles-based self-taught artist Scott Hove and Break Bread are behind Think Tank Gallery’s deliciously appetizing installation, “Cakeland.”

Sculpted to mimic one of our most sinful sugary treats, this 7,500 square feet maze features six chambers filled to the brim with artificial icing and fruit toppings. Within these various rooms attendees will find tech-based mirror mazes, weaponry, and even a secret 1950s style diner. You are literally walking around inside a giant cake.

Hove wrote on his site that his work, which features hyperrealistic representations of consumer goods, is commentary on “our notions of comfort, pleasure, celebration and their dark counterparts in the form of carefully crafted artificial cakes.” The installation entices viewers with decadent treats that are “quickly followed with impending threat.”

The exhibit is open to the public until March 13.
