Beginner’s Guide to Homebrewing. In Pictures

I know a guy who makes his own crackers. Yep. Homemade, artisanal crackers. I think it’s a bit silly to spend all that time baking your own crackers, but he has like, eight children, so it’s a matter of economics for him (have you seen the price of Triscuits lately?). Maybe I just don’t have the DIY gene. I have no desire to grow my own vegetables (the farmers in operation seem to be doing a fine job without my help) and I’ll probably never knit a sweater. But brewing my own beer? That has some appeal. I’d probably give it a shot if it wasn’t such an intimidating process.

Enter the Beginner’s Guide to Homebrewing, an info-graphic that lays out in detail exactly how to go about making your own suds. In a series of handy, easy to follow pictures, we learn the supplies we need and the steps to take to become one of those super-hip dudes who shows up to parties with growlers of his own IPA. Spoiler alert: you’re gonna need a thermometer. And a long spoon.

I still don’t think I have what it takes to make my own beer. But you gotta hand it to these guys for creating a chart that even I can follow.
