Hendrick's is Rolling Around The U.S. in This Giant Cucumber 'Garnisher'

Did you know there’s a National Cucumber Day? Yeah, neither did we.

Hendrick’s gin did, however. The gin is infused with cucumber, and the company is celebrating the big day by kicking off a nationwide tour in a giant cucumber garnisher. Yes, a giant cucumber garnisher.

Described by Hendrick’s Ambassador Mark Stoddard as “an eye-popping, wondrously strange cucumber slicing device,” the slicer on wheels hit the road on June 14th to bring its cucumber cutting skills to the masses.

“The Hendrick’s Grand Garnisher” is powered by a hybrid motor and a bicycle peddled by a “well-dressed gentleman,” so it’s not exactly going to be a high-speed tour. The Garnisher has a top speed of 25mph. The cucumber cutting also isn’t going to be that speedy — it can only handle 18 cucumbers and hour.

“It’s not the most efficient way to garnish a cocktail,” explained Stoddard, “but we do believe it is the most spectacular.”
