When it comes to craft beer bars you have some bars with a decent collection, some with an excellent selection, and some with an epic selection so great that you’re likely to never leave. Epic doesn’t even begin to describe the Raleigh Beer Garden, a craft beer bar in Raleigh, North Carolina that currently holds the title for both the most beer brands on draft and varieties on beer of draft in the world. Opened last July, the bar officially received its Guinness World Record certificates for both just a few months ago.
So, what does it take to get that honor?
The 8,500-square-foot place has a total of 366 beers, 144 of those from its home state of North Carolina. The two-story building houses the local beers on its first floor, and beers from around the world on the second. There’s a cocktail bar where you can sip on a fantastic selection of spirits, and an outdoor garden space as well as a rooftop where you can drink outside when the weather’s nice.
It’s a massive space, and a massive selection of brews with literally something on tap for everyone. The selection is so massive in fact that the bar doesn’t even print menus because the selection changes constantly. Instead, it uses the service TapHunter to provide an up-to-the-minute digital menu above each bar that is also available on your smartphone.
We recently visited the Beer Garden for a few brews, a snack, and a look around. Check out the gallery, above, for a virtual tour, and be sure to check it out in person if you ever find yourself in the Raleigh area. Actually, you may want to just go ahead and book a flight now. This is one place you don’t want to miss.

Beer is poured through taps mounted on the wall that feed directly into coolers. The short-draw system makes sure that the beer doesn't end up getting stored in lines and potentially becoming stale.
