This Tequila Cocktail is the New Gin and Tonic

Drink Features tequila

I never would have considered myself a tequila drinker. Years of being forced into taking shots of crappy tequila left a bad taste in my mouth, but I’ve started to develop an appreciation for well-made tequila over the last year or so. I can finally lose myself in the earthy bite of a high-quality blanco over ice. As far as tequila based cocktails, though, I haven’t ventured much further than the margarita… until Hornitos sent me their new honey-infused tequila along with everything I’d need to make a new cocktail—the Honey Tea Cooler—a mix of agave nectar, lemon and black tea. Think of it as an Arnold Palmer with a South of the Border kick.

It’s the perfect blend of tart and sweet that builds into a mellow cocktail best had while sipping on a front porch, probably while trying to avoid the summer heat. Honestly, the Honey Tea Cooler is way too easy to drink. And it is my new obsession. With this cocktail in my repertoire, I don’t think I’ll be drinking many gin and tonics this summer.

Check out the recipe below and maybe you’ll get obsessed too.
