Secret Summer's Cocktail Festival Features Local Farm-to-Bar Ingredients

Secret Summer was a tucked-away farm-to-bar cocktail event held in a secret garden — or at least, it felt that way. The Foundry in Long Island City, often used as a wedding venue, was transformed into a playground for frolicking with cocktails, ballet dancers, magicians and musicians.

Guests were welcomed through gauzy curtains with refreshing Swedish Rekorderlig Ciders and the rollicking Americana of the duo Coyote and Crow. As brass bands played outdoors and sirens sang indoors, guests wandered around a dreamy, gauzy landscape eating from food trucks including Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Big D’s Grub Truck and Eddie’s Pizza.

On the other side of the yard, La Pulperia churned out mouthwatering Argentinian barbecue from a smoky grill and A Lil Bit of Fun served up miniature sweets. Indoors, guests lounged amongst leafy green plants and souk-like couches drinking beet cocktails with falernum and sorrel. Above them, aerialists spun on lyra hoops, and outdoors, the brass band played on.
