The Anthem Demo Won’t Save Your Progress

The Anthem VIP demo that will take place from Jan. 25-27, 2019, won’t save and transfer your progress over to the main game.

Ben Irving, the lead producer of Anthem, confirmed this when replying to a fan on Twitter on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The fan asked for clarification on whether progress from both the closed demo—which took place last week —and the open demo will carry over to the full game.

In order to have access to the VIP demo, you must preorder the game, join Origin Access or join EA Access. The VIP demo will reward you with an exclusive in-game item to show you were one of the first to play the game, even if your progress won’t carry over.

For instructions on how to register and download the VIP demo, you can check the Electronic Arts site. Basically, if you’ve digitally preordered the game, or are part of Origin Access or EA Access, you’ve already been automatically registered for the demo and won’t need a code. If you’ve preordered the game through any retailers, you’ll need to redeem a code.

The demo will take place less than a month before the game’s release. Recently, BioWare unveiled a new trailer for Anthem, which introduces the game’s main antagonist, The Monitor. There are currently no details as to what content the VIP demo will provide.

Anthem will be released on Feb. 22, 2019, for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
